1 == About non-free firmware in Devuan minimal-live 2 3 Devuan minimal live comes with all the available firmware 4 packages pre-installed. This means that also *non-free* 5 software is present in this image. Actually, those non-free 6 firmware packages are *the only* non-free software packages 7 installed in this image. 8 9 This choice was dictated by the necessity to facilitate 10 new users in getting their hardware, and expecially wifi 11 cards, working out of the box. 12 13 However, we highly value the freedom of Devuan users, and 14 we would rather prefer to not be ever forced to use non-free 15 software, at all. 16 17 For this reason, we provide a simple script, called 18 "remove_firmware.sh", which allows to remove all non-free 19 firmware from your installation right after boot. Just run 20 the script, and all non-free firmware will be removed.
