THANKS (2802B)
1 Mixmaster Version 3.0 2 3 As I write this, Mixmaster is over a decade old. This incarnation of the 4 codebase was begun almost exactly 10 years ago, and the idea conceived 5 nearly half that again. Despite many changes in the social, political, 6 legal, and technological landscape, Mixmaster has continuously provided 7 anonymity services to those who need it throughout this time. 8 9 Many people have helped with the development of Mixmaster during its 10 long history. Lance Cottrell wrote the original 1.x and 2.0.x versions. 11 Ulf Möller contributed significantly to the 2.0.x versions, and wrote 12 the core code for 2.9 from scratch. I'd like to give special thanks to 13 Peter Palfrader, Colin Tuckley, and Steve Crook. As the core members of 14 the Mixmaster development team, without their tireless efforts, this 15 project would not be sustainable. 16 17 Additionally, I would like to honor the memory of a former valued member 18 of the development team, Janis Jagars, whose work made this release 19 possible, though sadly, he passed away tragically before it was 20 completed. "Disastry", you are missed. 21 22 Mixmaster uses Jean-loup Gailly and Mark Adler's compression library zlib, 23 Philip Hazel's Perl Compatible Regular Expressions library, the ncurses 24 library (originally written by Zeyd Ben-Halim and Eric Raymond), and 25 OpenSSL (based on work by Eric Young and Tim Hudson.) 26 27 I have compiled below a partial list of people who have contributed to 28 Mixmaster's success, through suggestions, bug reports, patches, or other 29 contributions. Please report any omissions to me. 30 31 There have been numerous anonymous contributions to this project as well. 32 While we obviously can't thank the contributor(s) by name, they are still 33 very much appreciated. 34 35 Thanks also to all the remailer operators, who give their time and service 36 (and perform what is too often a thankless job) to ensure that our right 37 to anonymous speech is preserved. 38 39 Finally, thank you to my colleagues at COSIC, and my advisors, Prof. 40 Bart Preneel and Prof. David Chaum, for their support of my work on this 41 project. 42 43 44 Len Sassaman 45 03 March 2008 46 Leuven, Belgium 47 http://homes.esat.kuleuven.be/~lsassama/ 48 49 50 Credits: 51 52 Antonomasia 53 Erik Arneson 54 Adam Back 55 Kevin Bennett 56 Gerd Beuster 57 Jim Castleberry 58 cmeclax 59 Bram Cohen 60 Steve Crook 61 Lance Cottrell 62 Richard Christman 63 Todd Cutter 64 Dingo Admin 65 Andy Dustman 66 Sami Farin 67 John B.
